Veronique Cantin is a project manager for TransCanada PipeLines based in Calgary. She graduated in civil engineering from Université Laval in Quebec City in 2007 and has since held various project engineer and project manager roles at TransCanada for pipeline and facility capital projects, as well as for maintenance projects. She has recently worked on project development for various oil facilities and pipelines, focusing on permitting and compliance, regulatory processes, early engineering and commissioning planning. She then joined TransCanada’s Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) project team, managing the field studies and modeling activities for the offshore pipeline portion of that project, which feeds into the proposed Pacific Northwest LNG facility in northwest BC. During her time with the PRGT team, she was the main interface between the technical offshore pipeline team and the regulatory and environmental team supporting that project. She participated in discussions with regulators and organized technical activities in support of regulatory requirements.
Veronique is passionate about introducing engineering to the next generation of professionals, as well as supporting women in engineering careers. She volunteers with the APEGA Outreach program as well as the Alberta Science Network.
